March 28 @ 9:00 am - 3:00 pm| $5.00
Saturday, March 28, 2020
Venue —Sherwood Community Centre, 6355 Main Street West (at Tremaine)
Join us on Saturday, March 28 from 9 am through 3 pm for this year’s Seedy Saturday at the new Sherwood Community Centre on Main Street (at Tremaine). In addition to an excellent line up of speakers, we’ll have a kids area, hourly draws, Penny auction, refreshments, Garden market place filled with vendors and exhibitors, and more.
Soon we will be saying goodbye to winter and hello to spring. With spring comes gardening and there is nothing as rewarding as planting your own seeds and seeing them grow, particularly for kids.
What is a Seedy Saturday? It’s a remarkable phenomenon which has sprung up across Canada under the general themes of encouraging the use of naturally pollinated and heritage seeds, a local seed exchange, and educating everyone about seed saving and environmentally responsible gardening practices.
Come and hear the free, gardening seminars by expert speakers. You can also bring your own gardening questions for the Master Gardeners to answer. And there’s more. Bring seeds for the seed swap, if you’ve saved some, but you don’t have to bring seeds to attend. If you don’t have any to swap there will be an opportunity to purchase some and there will be lots to see and do.
