National Garden Day Event
June 16, 2018
Canada’s Annual Celebration of Gardens and Gardening
A tree planting ceremony was held at Milton Public Library to serve as a highlight of this national event here in the Town of Milton. Honorable presenters included Mayor Krantz, Leslie Fitch, Chief Librarian, Sean James, Provincial Spokesman Garden Days and Anne Eadie, President of HortSociety. They made delightful remarks at the opening. We also had three brave young ones Nadine Hor, Yasmine Hor and Ryan Tieman for reciting a tree planting poem, in English and French.
Landscape Ontario was the tree sponsor of the event. A ten feet tall Paper Bark Maple was planted. Its exfoliated reddish bark was a great attraction and had already received many ‘likes’ from the audience.
